I recently started the BS IT Sec curriculum at WGU... just got my A+ on Saturday. I'm hoping that I can start looking for a job soon. Wondering if I should join some Professional Organizations, not just as a resume builder but to take advantage of the networking events. I'm in NYC Metro, so here are the two I found that I think could be worth it:

ISACA - NY Metro chapter $195
AITP - Garden State or NYC chapter $105

Any thoughts? I was thinking of doing NY for ISACA and the NJ one for AITP so I can network within two different circles, but obviously I'm sure the NYC chapters have many more members.

Thanks!

ISACA would be a great one for you to join.

I joined PMI, and actually have an event to go to tonight.

    Best regards,

ISACA is a pretty well known organization. If it's a toss-up for you - I would suggest starting with ISACA. But I can't comment on local chapters - never been to one. icon_smile.gif
