If you were to make a road map for a career in Networking

What would it look like from a cert perspective?
What jobs would you try to attain with those certs?
Realistic time line?

And, if you wanted to be sought after by Intl recruiters, within 5-10 years, what would you pursue?

Assume this is a career re-boot, little recent IT experience(help desk roles, 2000-2005)

How much does the city you live in play a role? (ie Tampa area)

I'd say certs for starting out would be A+, Network +, Security +, CCENT, and CCNA. After a few certs you should be able to get into a desktop support job or NOC type position at an entry level. Then gain experience and go on from there. If you're interested in Networking move onto the CCNP, etc.
