The INE topology has three 1841's. I went ahead and grabbed four just because.

    Sweet - thanks!

I already have 3. Though, one of them is being used as my home router :D Maybe once I get through CCNP I'll use it for my CCIE lab.

Question, are you guys paying full price for the Digi CM 32? I'd like to buy one versus the access server route but it seems a little pricey.

Oh not at all. Brand new they are very pricey. I was able to get mine off of Ebay for $48, and locally to boot!

Check out this thread here for more details.

I need a new rack, added a PIX515 to the mix and one 2U server case for VM use, wish I went with a 20-24U or something like that vs the 12u :/

You can get one relatively cheap from Dantrak Net  - New and Used Networking Equipment and Peripherals. Skeletek Racks and Accessories.

    They are incredibly sturdy.

Great quality. Probably the nicest purchase I've made.

I have a rack that is almost identical to theirs - put side by side, you probably wouldn't notice the difference.

Speaking of which, my 20u is full now. I'm going buy a 16u from them within the next few weeks.

I almost bought a Skeletek, until I saw a sweet deal on Craigslist that included an APC Smart UPS 1500 for $100 less than the purchased new price of the enclosure I bought. Sometimes you can luck out on Craigslist and find sweet deals on enclosures.

In other news, your 20u is full!!!???......of win?

mac why do you have all those red cat5 cables going from switch to switch are they crossovers?
  • MAC_AddyMAC_Addy Member Posts: 1,740 ■■■■□□□□□□
Yeh, they're all crossover cables that I made. I got bored one day at work and just kept making them. Plus to test my STP knowledge so I could figure out which port had been nominated as the root.

Recent pictures of my lab. I don't have the facilities yet for neat cabling.... I was finally able to get everything plugged in. I'm curious to see how different the electricity bill will be....

I need a few so let's hear your secret :)
Our company leases a lot of buildings. We needed two offices in a city - I went in there to do an estimate on what we'd need. They were sitting in the IT closet all boxed up. I thought that previous owner would take them, but no. I let them sit in there for 3 months before I brought them home. Of course, I'm not going to sell them - that'll be wrong. But I did take up the running configs along with the IOS.

Wow guys nice lab I just have 2 2950T with no rack.

I've a little question for my lab ... I've just got a cat in the house and what rack should I get with a cat near ?
  • MickQMickQ Member Posts: 628 ■■■■□□□□□□
This is mine. From the top, it's:
    1 no. LackRack
    1 no. 2522
    2 no. 2950
    1 no. 2950
1 no. 3750X (full enterprise image!!!)
    2 no. 3550

    There's also (not shown):
    1 no. 877
    2 no. 1921
2 no. something or others. Old 10/100 switches - smaller than the 2950s.

The 3750X is worth €8k. Shame I had to give it back to the customer.
