With the name change, do they still require that you complete RHCSA when going for RHCE if your already hold the RHCSA?

Yup, not a ton of jobs in my area for it, but I'm willing to move to get where I want to be ;)

To answer your question, you will have to pass the RHCSA to get the RHCE.

Correct, but if you already have the RHCSA do you have to retake that portion of the test prior to the RHCE portion? I know when it was RHCT, if you completed the RHCT and then went back for the RHCE you would take the RHCT portion again.

I knew I was missing part of the question. If you already have the "RHCSA", you can move onto the RHCE. No need to go back and retake anything. If you only had the RHCT, then that would be a different story.

It sounds like there is a catch in there. How old is the RHCSA we're talking about? If it's 3 years old or from RHEL4, you will need to re-up the RHCSA, before taking the RHCE for RHEL6. And like Yuck said, the RHCSA portion isn't included in the RHCE exam. It's a prereq. and you can do both exams in one day.

    Here are the current policies:

Thanks onesaint! Yeah I don't have the RHCSA, but I wanted to see if it was a case where I should just study for both and take them at the same time because on the old certs if you took RHCE you had to do RHCT regardless.

No problem, Grinch. I think the RHCE was a compound exam back in RHEL4 days, iirc. Have a read over Lethe's RHCSA review. It covers his renewal and mentions the two exam in one day thing. It's also a good review of exam prep.
