  I installed the RP on a physical machine rather a virtual this go around (using it now actually) and I'm actually OK with the start button being gone. It's basically still there in away. Moving your mouse to the far bottom left corner and clicking brings up with Start screen. Also hovering to the far left side of the screen brings up thumbnails of any apps that are currently running, you can right click these thumbnails to close the app out, rather than being forced to have it running in "suspended" mode
