IPv6 point to point addressing

Hi guys,

All of the network configs i saw so far are using a /64 network for a point to point connection. Why is this when only 2 addresses are needed? A /127 gives you exactly 2 addresses, why doesn't anyone use this address?

    RFC 3627 - I-D Tag:

    "Abstract
In some cases, the operational decision may be to use IPv6 /127 prefix lengths, especially on point-to-point links between routers. Under certain situations, this may lead to one router claiming both addresses due to subnet-router anycast being implemented. This document discusses the issue and offers a couple of solutions to the problem; nevertheless, /127 should be avoided between two routers."

    Hope this helps.
My advice to anyone looking to advance their career would be to learn DevOps tools and methodologies. Learn how to write code in languages like Python and JavaScript. Not to be a programmer, but a network automation specialist who can do the job of 10 engineers in 1/3 of the time. Create a GitHub account, download PyCharm, play with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. Automation isn't the future, it's here today and the landscape is changing dramatically.
