I will graduate this May with a B.S degree in Information Sciences - Network administration.

Under my objective in my resume I would like to include what position I am directing towards
I just cant put down Network admin...Which i would never want to put down anyways since it takes many years to become one...so what would you recommend?

1.Computer Network Technician
2.Computer Support Specialist
3.Network Operator
4. Your request
Thanks alot fellas! :D

Systems Analyst. Very encompassing. I've seen it describe pretty much every role in IT.

it is a well known fact that using objective is very bad b/c it limits your ablity to move to different jobs and has to be rewrote everytime you apply for a job that ins't inline with the current objective on the resume......

i should have a section for resumes ....lol icon_lol.gif

    -LAN Administrator
    -Network Specialist
-Definitely NOT Desktop Support, Technical Support Analyst, PC Support Technician, Help Desk!

Depending on the size of the company you could jump right into a Net Admin position, it depends on the requirements. Managing network hardware, VLANS, domain servers, policies, email servers, Web servers, and file & print servers should have all been covered in your network emphasis. That's no-brainer network admin requirements. It's when you get to administer Citrix, Oracle, SQL Server, Unix/Linux, VoIP, InfoSec and various other organization specific servers that the experience becomes necessary. Good luck with the job hunt.

your welcome.. . for an opening use a summary that is a short highlight of your skills only to be further communicated within the body of the resume icon_wink.gif

I concur, perhaps search for examples of Net Tech/Admin resumes to get ideas of what the industry norm is, and then tailor yours to suit your strong areas.
