Copying from tftp

Hey guys

Trying to upgrade my 3550 IOS image. I've downloaded solar winds tftp server and put the image in the correct folder.

On the router I've assigned vlan1 ip of [URL="tel:192.168.0.50"]192.168.0.50[/URL] .. My computer is 0.100

They can ping each other fine. Well I try and copy the file over though
copy tftp flash
[URL="tel:192.168.0.100"]192.168.0.100[/URL]
........image name, not sure if it should end with .bin, my documents doesn't show it like the but it is a bin file
image name again
.....
error opening tftp://192.168.0.100/imagename (timed out)

An ideas why? It's allowed in my w7 firewall as well. Thanks

: disabled firewall and now it's saying file name not found, progress!
Edit2: made the file name a bad one, works now though

should've tried disabling firewall before creating thread!

Umm.. I kind of messed it all up. I erased the entire flash..

So I can't boot, if I hold down the mode button when turning on the switch I get the switch: prompt.

I've tried to follow this guide: Recovery From Corrupt or Missing Software Image on Cisco Catalyst 2900XL and 3500XL Series Switches - Cisco Systems using copy xodem, but that doesn't seem to be working (shown in image.. it waits about a minute and then says "No response from remote system)"

is your router in Rommon>

you may need to do it the xmodem method but it does take quite some time to learn it.
it took me about a day the first time i did xmodem

Isn't Rommon just for routers? Instead it's just:

ror loading "tftp:c3550-ipservicesk9.bin"

Interrupt within 5 seconds to abort boot process.
Boot process failed...

The system is unable to boot automatically.  The BOOT
environment variable needs to be set to a bootable
image.

I wouldn't care if I have to wait all day for xmodem mode, but it doesn't seem to be working as I said in my previous post. "No response from remote system"

Aha, didn't know I had to type in the command and then select the file.. It wasn't working on 115200 BAUD rate, had to take it back down to 9600. Working now. 55K of 6810K. This is going to take a while! ETA 2 hour 23 mins

I had a switch boot to s>, S> it is the same proceedure as rommon> i was told, but i had to do xmodem to fix it.
