Confused. Is MCITP:EA now obsolete?

Hi guys

I'm almost finished my MCITP:EA cert, with just 70-647 to go. I've already done 70-680, 70-648 and 643 to upgrade from my MCSE 2003.

However I note with some concern there doesn't seem to be a clear upgrade path to 2012 for MCITP:EA 2008

MCSA: Windows Server 2012 Certification

It mentions MCITP:SA in that upgrade list but not EA? Is EA dead in the water?? icon_cry.gif

Afraid so, once you clear the last exam you will be MCITP:EA or MCSA 2008 Certified but thats it. The only upgrade path is to MCSA 2012 which is 70-417 exam.
There is no other path as of now

70-417 will be the only upgrade path to MCSA 2012 regardless of MCITP:EA or MCITP:SA

EA isn't obsolete in the sense that it is still a valid, achievable certification. But as stated, it offers no upgrade path outside of the MCSA 2008 it gives you when you pass it.

Finish you MCITP:EA. You're only one test away. It has value on its own. There is no 2008/R2-era MCSE equivalent other than MCITP:EA, so it will always have some standalone value.

    +1

Have noticed the EA seems to be more in demand than last time I looked.
