Installation of vSphere 5.1 with Windows Server 2012

Hi All,

Please let me know if any of you guys has done this in a Virtual Lab environment or live (unlikely but can happen). I am studying for my VCP end of this month and had this incredible idea (seemed to be at that time) of knocking out 2 birds with one stone i.e install vSphere 5.1 on a Windows Server 2012 environment to get the best of both worlds VCP5 and 70-410

Needless to say 6 hours spent yesterday I am yet to get anything working plus had a system crash as well icon_rolleyes.gif thinking of installing 2008 R2 and vSphere 5.1 for now.

Any inputs?

Thanks for that, my issues were installing vCenter on Windows Server 2012 but I will go through the documentation and see if it helps :)

That's a whole different issue. You can install Server 2012 on vSphere 5.1 but vCenter 5.1 is not yet supported on Server 2012.

By the way - bookmark this - you can any combination here - you can also check the VMware forums as people have reported to get it working.

Thanks mate! I found this out the hard way yesterday. Almost completed the same task today on 2008 R2 but will come back to 2012 bit later. First priority is the exam end of the month :)
