Good Choice ?

Hello all,

I just passed my CEH certification with 95%. It is my first certification in Security

I have 6 years experience in Network/Systems/Security.
After the CEH I said I will continue the eccouncil curcus and pass ECSA Certification..
But.. Now I think the CISSP is the most certification recognized in Security.
1) Could you this it is a good choice to start CISSP Books ?

2) I try to find new books talking about CISSP , I found:
x CISSP All-in-One Exam Guide, 6th Edition by Shon Harris ( 18 october 2012)
x CISSP Study Guide Second Edition by Eric Conrad (1st september 2012)

I read in some comments that Eric Conrad's book will be better because it goes to Essential.

Could you please help me about this choice ? And share your experience about theses books?

There is plenty of information already in this forum about CISSP study materials, so please start your CISSP studies by reading this forum.

But here's a tip: The SANS CISSP training program uses the Eric Conrad book.

It seems like the CISSP is more administrative whereas the CEH is pen testing. Just realize what content is on that exam b4 starting studying.

In my CISSP bootcamp, the vast majority of people used the Shon Harris book, and most had good results. I've had no experience with the Conrad book, so maybe someone else can chime in on that portion.

i didn't use the full blown conrad book but I did use the 11th hour book. Good stuff in my opinion for down to the wire studying.

I own the Shon Harris book but barely touched it. Primarily used the two Eric Conrad books. More concise information that suited my learning style but your mileage may vary.

Will also give a +1 for the Conrad/Syngress book as well. Concise (in a positive way) is a good way to describe it. Some good other info out there as well, just spend some time with google and the search feature on here.

i would recommend

1> please use the Shon first: clear language and important concepts are outlined properly. i felt that difference between DR and BCP could have been explained more (also a> Configuration and Mgmt vs Change mgmt b> DR vs contingency planning should include more examples ). To understand these I had to search over internet and finally got the second source

2> CBK: Once done with shon, this will help you final polish your concepts. Please make sure you do the questions at the end of each chapter.
