Can't Log into Asdm

Can't seem to log into asdm. I could ping it and access the download page in the browser for the launcher. Issue is once I'm running the launcher and type in the device ip add/ username/ password it doesn't open anything. Am I missing something?

I've had this issue in the past when it just sits there trying to load after you type in the credentials. It was a Java upgrade that I had to undo and it worked fine.

I've also run in to an issue where I had to downgrade from, IIRC, Java 7 to Java 6

So you can ping the ASA, but when you enter https://IP you don't even get the interface to prompt? Do you have http/s access allowed to the IP or subnet you are on?

    i.e.

    http server enable

It's Java. I've seen it a trillion times and it always ticks me off because customers always want the ASDM and always have Java issues.

If you have KIS 2013 (windows 8 ) disable the AV temporarily, was having the exact same issue

There is also a bug with different versions of ASDM where it starts loading and just hangs. Per Cisco only way to fix is rebooting the firewall.. Ran into that issue on a production ASA 5550 :)

Did they provide a bug ID?

I got it working awhile back, it was my mmm, I forgot, Keith Barker has really got my missing, I never thought I would say this Jeremy. ( I think I was putting the wrong address in the URL, ? somthing totaly embaressing ya know).

Yeah but that Jave god I remember back with ccna doing SDM took forever just to get it going, yuk!

Going through the Firewall cbt nuggets with Keith and I just don't seem to get past video 3. Keith gives me ADD worse than Jeremy.
