Interview with Google

the_Grinchthe_Grinch Member Posts: 4,165 ■■■■■■■■■■
I've been sick the past two days and just laying in bed. I was going through my email when something caught my eye, a Google recruiter asking to setup an phone interview for a position I applied for. I've interviewed with them previously and it was the third in person interview that did me in. Hopefully, I'll make it all the way this time!

Congrats. Here's what I know about Google and Google interviews: Be ready to ask puzzle questions. I don't know if you read my thread from awhile back about that interview I had in San Jose. One of my buddies told me he interviewed at Google and they asked him a lot of the same sort of questions so just a heads up.

If you end up getting hired, you have a lot of perks to look forward to though! Looking forward to hearing the followup on this thread!

Thanks all! The position appears to be one in which I would look at the various tools Googlers use and see if it is the best tool for the job. From there I would look at any alternatives, internal or external, and push for their use if they would do the job more efficiently. Seems interesting, I'll keep you guys up to date!

Dang sorry to hear that. Did they ask you any out of the blue questions?

    the_Grinchthe_Grinch Member Posts: 4,165 ■■■■■■■■■■
The question were geared towards things I've never really done, so I reasoned as best I could, but I think I was missing the mark. Purely a technical interview, no puzzle questions or psych questions ;)

    Ah bugger.
Then again, you might just get it. Just like Greg Kinnear in The Matador.
