I was reading through the 70-270 tech notes and noticed the USMT topic was an acronym of User State Management Tool. I thought it was User State Migration Tool. This is the second time I am reading through this and I just noticed this. Is this a typo in the tech notes? If this has been addressed before I apologize.

there is evidently something called User State Management Tool whose acronym is USMT, as it is found in the
MS website
.
i'm guessing it's just another name for User State Migration Tool.

I think the terms are interchangeable. What's important is knowing what it is, and how to use it.

it's bad enough that we have to memorize tons of these acronyms, but it's worst when the vendors change the acronyms with each OS upgrades, and don't keep their acronyms straight on all sources!

There is the right way. And then there is the microsoft way.
