confused net+

hi i am a student and soon i am going to attend net+ exam.
i have just started
i am very confused
i know its maybe obvious for you but i want to know
what is the difference between
win remote desktop connection and win remote desktop sharing
and what about RDP is it a protocol or an apllication
please i seek advice
and by the way your forum rocks
best one for net+
and plesae accept me as a new member and i hope i can help someone one day :) if i study hard :)

    RDP stands for Remote Desktop Protocol.

    remote desktop is basically logging on remotely to a computer. working at your local computer but "doing stuff" on a remote pc, as if you were in fact in front of it.
    sharing is basically making resources on your pc available to other users on the network. letting them access i.e. a folder that resides on your comp.
    something like that.

    Do you have your A+ Cert Skint? That might be a better start for you. If you do have your A+ already then the TechNotes webmster linked you to would be another great way to fill in some gaps you may have missed.

    and for the A+ well i studied for it but i cant pay for 2 A+ exams i am on a tight extremely tight budget
    i prefer to pass the net+ best preparation for MCP
