I got my Security + yesterday. What is the best resource out there to study for the Network +?

    CBT Nuggets n10-004 and n10-005 series
    Pro Messer vids
    Textbook: Network+ Guide for Networks, 6th Edition, Course Technology/Cengage Learning, 2013, Tamara Dean
    Labsim: Network Pro N10-005 ISBN: 978-935080-43-5, Testout
    And all the free online practice questions
    I didnt know what I didnt know untill I started taking online test's

    Interesting.

    For Security +, there is a great book called: Get Certified Get Ahead - by Darril Gibson. All you have to do is read that book and you can literally pass the Secuirty + exam. Is there any best resource for Net Plus like that?

    Not that I know of
    I didnt want to take any chances, so I studied them all
    From what I have heard there is allot of knowledge carry over from Net+ to Sec+ so you already know part just by passing Sec+

    I am studying for Sec+ plus right now
    Having heard so much about Darril's book I will add that to my list

    I just read the Sybex Security+ book but that was for the SYS-201 exam, that was simple. Actually just skimmed it as most of it I already knew. The Network+, I didn't even study, just mainly used the online questions because the majority of it is basic knowledge. The only thing that I would probably have found a little difficult was the wireless, but I have my CWTS certification, so it was not that bad.

    @OmniMan I passed and didn't miss one question using Exam Cram N10-005, professor Messer video's and download the objectives off of Comptia's website. The exam cram includes test questions and a CD with test questions also. Oh this site also helped tremendously for study tips. Good luck

    The Mike Meyers book was great to me. So was the exam cram (to solidify the knowledge after going through Mike Meyers.)
    The Professor Messer Videos were great too. I used them as a last min cram before I took my test.

    It's not as simple as just getting 1 book by Darril Gibson, but the above is all you need.

    I have the Sybex book too, but I honestly didn't like it that much. I read maybe 4 chapters total in it.

    @OmniMan I had four simulation questions. Basic stuff. Wiring diagrams and router setups. Look on the forum you will find more examples. This forum is the IT bible. The test really isn't that hard however don't slack on ur studying because I said that. Just try and find as many practice exams as you can. Good luck brother

    I'd recommend getting the 2nd link - the AIO instead of the passport series.
    But honestly, I haven't actually read the passport book.

    I agree with DoubleNNs. Meyer's All-in-One, a few of Messer's videos, and random practice tests were really all I needed. Good luck!

    Great book, but a bit "dry" to read compared to the Mike Meyers’ CompTIA Network+ Certification Passport, 4th Edition as far as I can remember.
    But still a great book, highly recommended. Passed the exam on first attempt.

    From what I heard the Passport is more of a condensed version. Straight to the point yet easy to understand with a little less detail. I think I will pick that one up today.
