NTFS Permission

Please I want to know what am doing wrong, am tring to share some folders in my home network using NTFS permission and am having problem with that, if I use simple file sharing, all folders are accessible. On one of the computer I have XP Pro so I turned off simple file sharing and use NTFS permission to share the file, I removed the everyone group and added the users group with full permission. From another computer that is XP Home I could see the folders but when I try to open them I get the "Acess is denied" error. All the computers are members of the same workgroup. Please I need help

did you configure the share permissions?
edit: well add the everyone group back and see if that fixes it. i don't know under whose security context you are trying to access the share, so i can't say much, but if adding the everyone group back to the permissions makes it work, then you've found your problem.

Add everyone group and allow everyone full control under the share tab, then set your permissions from the security tab to apply ntfs. Also make sure that the user account that is trying to access the folder through the share, is also setup on the computer that is hosting the share. In other words, if a user account is attempting to access a share on another system then that account must also be a user on that other system unless you are in a domain environment. Another thing to remember is that windows xp may make you use a password if you are accessing a folder through a share, even if the user account that you are using is set up on both computers. So if you are using a user account that has a blank password then you may get the access denied message.

Thanks you all for the comments, Jburn what you said is exactly what I did and it worked, I created a duplicate user account in the XP Home and then re-boot the machine and I was able to access the folder.

boy, I could still remember those times spent pulling my hair out trying to do peer-to-peers and get access denied because of blank password.
