i have a final and need some practicec questions answered hope you guys can help me out!

1.) A router determines the path to deliver a packet. What layer of the OSI model does this fact represent?

    sorry to double post but i have tons of questions.... like 40 or so...

    a host address
    b subnetwork address
    c broadcast address
    d multicast address

    4.) A computer technician is asked to make a network cable. One end of the cable is pinned as a 568A and the other as a 568B. For what purposes can this cable be used? (Choose two.)

    192.168.170.112 you can write it as above(in order to understand the whole thing):

    192.168.170.0111000 ok?

    now count 28 bits to see where the mask ends:

    192.168.170.0111|0000 (please observe the line after the ases) ok ?

    now because all the host portion is zeros (0000) this is a network address.
    You can't asign it in any host.

    For exampe 192.168.170.113/28 is a valid ip of the network 192.168.170.112/28


    4)''as a 568A and the other as a 568B'' means that the cable is crosscable and you use it to connect same devices such as B and D.

    you may not understand option D.

    there is a big possibility all the above to be crap ( i have not my ccna yet!)

    Read a book! I cant believe your studying routing and you cant find out what layer it uses.....
    Networking, sometimes i love it, mostly i hate it.Its all about the $$$$
