I've had an account since 2010 but never really filled out information or took advantage of it besides accepting the few friends who have requested me. Would really like to get connected to a bunch of professionals in the industry I want to succeed in

Also, you are doing yourself a favor. I just moved from New York City and know for a fact how competitive the market can be. You will thank yourself in the future. I've had managers and recruiters personally ask for my LinkedIn profile url so they can prescreen me.2019 Goals

OptionsAkaricloud Member Posts: 938You should probably fill out your LinkedIn before connecting with people. It's no good if people are viewing your profile and can't see anything about you.
Also, try to target your connections to a specific area you're looking to go into or even more towards professionals in a specific location if you're trying to stay in one. -

OptionsolaHalo Member Posts: 748 ■■■■□□□□□□I noticed a lot of people are not "endorsed" for their skills on linkedin.
Is it normal for connections to just not endorse people?
Almost all of my coworkers endorse each other for skills we know the person has.
Just curious... -
OptionsIristheangel Mod Posts: 4,133 ModFeel free to add me. I've linked my LinkedIn on my profile for almost 6 months now.

Small world; you were already a third degree connection (which I believe means if everyone I knew and everyone you knew got together we still wouldn't know each other)...WGU - BS IT: ND&M | Start Date: 12/1/12, End Date 5/7/2013

OptionsIristheangel Mod Posts: 4,133 ModOne of my childhood friends is a recruiter in San Jose. Thanks to him, I'm a third degree connection to everyone and their mother. I even discovered a few exes that I'm connected to through him.

I've been on LinkedIn for a few years now, and I keep it pretty up to date (just like my resume). I love connecting with the clients I work with, as well as recruiters for any new opportunities that would suite me well. -
