I've had an account since 2010 but never really filled out information or took advantage of it besides accepting the few friends who have requested me. Would really like to get connected to a bunch of professionals in the industry I want to succeed in icon_rolleyes.gif

    I started mine a week ago and the number of interesting jobs I have been hit with is astounding

    You might want to fill it out first.

    Also, you are doing yourself a favor. I just moved from New York City and know for a fact how competitive the market can be. You will thank yourself in the future. I've had managers and recruiters personally ask for my LinkedIn profile url so they can prescreen me.

    You should probably fill out your LinkedIn before connecting with people. It's no good if people are viewing your profile and can't see anything about you.

    Also, try to target your connections to a specific area you're looking to go into or even more towards professionals in a specific location if you're trying to stay in one.

    I noticed a lot of people are not "endorsed" for their skills on linkedin.
    Is it normal for connections to just not endorse people?

    Almost all of my coworkers endorse each other for skills we know the person has.
