Vcap-dtd

VCAP-DTD has finally gone live. Took the beta version early Jan. The beta was tough because there were several calculation questions and no calculator. I thought the exam itself was easier than DCD. Pretty sure I didn't pass it since I ran out of time. Will know for sure by end of May.

    I think I failed, since I got an exam authorization from VMware. Haven't seen anything official from the cert team as to yay or nay.

    I thought the design exams were instant results. Is this not the case with DTD?

    It was a Beta. You get to wait 4-5 months for beta results.

    Ah yeah that's right. Good luck either way.

    Maybe the team that issues authorizations is different from the one that marks and prepares the tests. They just looked at your VCP's and gave you the authorization.

    Either way you are still a monster and will pass anyway.

    Looks like I haven't offically failed this exam. Just got an e-mail from the cert team stating that the recent system problems at Pearson has further delayed the rescore.

    MeadIT has better VMware certs than I do. I'm just a n00b cert addict.

    Read on a blog that Pearson Vue updated exam status. Logged into Pearson Vue and sure enough my VDTD510 exam status has changed from taken to pass. Considering all the problems Pearson had scoring this exam I'll wait until I get an e-mail from VMware, but I guess I can celebrate a little.

    Awesome man, you're definitely a role model. I'm trying to convince my office that VCAP5-DCA is worth it to us. I'd love to get more and more VMware stuff. Microsoft is a lot easier to "Catch em all" so that's where I tend to hang, like it or not.

    Great work man! Getting all these certs is a great achievement even if you work on the products every day.

    You are only one away from all VMware certs, what are you going to do next? Cisco/Citrix/Storage?

    Thanks everyone.

    @Essendon
    I don't have CIA, DTA and any of the VCDX level certs. The admin exams are difficult for me because I don't work with them on a regular bases. Current plan is to obtain VCDX5-DCV, then go for PMP.

    I work as a VMware SME at a well funded gov't agency. Primary responsibility is to evaluate, design & implement virtualization/cloud technology. Also need to work on occasional tier 4 trouble tix.

    Wife seems pretty jaded. When I got my first VCAP, she was super excited and made all sorts of plans to go out and celebrate. With this one, all I got out of her was, "Oh, ok." icon_sad.gif

    When I got home today, there was a letter from Pearson Vue. I passed with a 303. Considering I spend 2 weeks studying for it, it was a beta exam, also trying to pass VCP-Cloud beta & VCAP-DCA retry at the same time and there was xmas & new years to deal with, I'm happy with the result.
