Decided to do the new CCENT instead

I decided over much thinking to use my money towards the new CCENT instead of the network+. I studied and read the network+ book a bit already but rather use my money towards the CCENT. Also decided to do the new version to be on the safe side as well.

I have the cbt nuggets for icnd1-100-101 and the cisco press book ccent by wendell odom. Should I watch all the videos first then read the book completely. Or read the book first then watch the videos? So much material to go over wanted to know what is the better method.

I know there is some websites to help me study for the lab parts and with this forum more practice when I'm done and ready to do practice tests. I'm shooting for the CCNA before this year is out hell maybe by the end of summer or at least the new CCENT before summer is out lol.

I'm actually excited to start hitting the books for this exam while starting my new job as an NOC technician. I feel when I finally get the CCNA I will be more proud of myself then when I got my Bachelors degree in CIS

Anyways hopefully ill be able to buy some used cisco hardware to lab it up and avoid the simulator as much as possible.

If you're skipping the net+ but already have the book, I'd recommend reading thru it anyway, even if a quick scan. The foundational knowledge on the net+ is really beneficial (in my opinion) even if the cost of the exam is hard to justify if you're short on cash.

I'm studying the CCENT now too, nearing the ready state for the exam. I haven't read the Odom book yet but what I did was read the beginning of the CCENT for dummies book, until i got to the IOS part. By then, a lot of the reading is just commands/code. SO I watched all the CBT nuggets videos and when I came back to reading I was already acquainted w/ most of the commands and it took me less time to digest all of it.

I don't think the order really matters tho. Just try to find an order for you as an individual that helps you digest the info the easiest.

Okay thank you and yea I read for the most part the pearson vue network+ book and watch some of the professor messer videos too. So far I think I'll read the book in the daytime and watch the videos in the nighttime. Jeremy who does the cbt nuggets videos is not as slow and lecture like as professor messer (not saying hes not good which he is).
