'default-information originate' and 'redistribute static'

The commands to distribute the default route to the internet seem to be different from rip to EIGRP

I remember in RIP, it's 'default-information originate'. I'm now reading EIGRP, the command I encounter is 'redistribute static'. What about OSPF? Is it different too? Sigh!

"redistribute static" works on RIP, OSPF and EIGRP
"default-information originate" works on RIP and OSPF.

Just be aware that there is a difference between the two commands.

What's the difference? I thought they do exactly the same thing - distribute a default route to other routers.

@workfrom925 - I think JoshyJ is gently trying to tell you to Google the two concepts and see the difference for yourself - that's a very important part of the learning process.

Try the two-part route (pun intended).
