Hi all,
I am working as junior technician with the help desk coordinator in my learner ship program, sometimes i come across little problems i cannot solve something like exporting mails and i also have a problem with trouble shooting desktop issues as well. At work we have these MCITP books to play around with and according to my knowledge MCITP has fallen out, my question is, in the meantime is it a good idea to read the and build my skills and knowledge and maybe get prepared for the future MS exams that i am going to take later in the year or i am i just wasting my time reading these books? FYI am currently preparing for the net+ exam and i was planning to do this after completing my net+ exam, i am going to buy books for the MCSE exam when i start the course.
Please tell me if all this is appropriate in terms of building knowledge and skills and preparation.

It is never a bad idea to learn more and seek ways to improve yourself. Although the MCITP is being retired next year, I think there is something you can get from reading the book.Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. @Snow.bros - that MCITP has been renamed the MCSA Windows Server 2008: MCSA: Windows Server 2008 | Microsoft Learning
On the page above you will also see how to upgrade to the MCSA Windows Server 2012 via the 70-417 exam: Exam 70-417: Upgrading your skills to MCSA Windows Server 2012
For the MCSE, you need to complete 2 additional exams: MCSE CertificationFall 2014: Start MA in Mathematics [X]

Okay you do confirm that MCITP is inline with MCSE, now would recommend or would it be appropriate that i study MCITP just for the additional and then later on when i start with the course and eventually preparing for the actual exam because i can only get the books when i only start the course."It's better to try and fail than to fail to try."
