Passed this one today after a few months of study with a very splendid 887. 
I very much recommend the book here: Exam Ref 70-417: Upgrading Your Skills To MCSA Windows Server 2012: Amazon.co.uk: J.C. Mackin: Books - It covered all aspects of the exam in sufficient detail at a technical level in tune for certified professionals holding the MCSA 2008.
I also had a good lab setup that comprised of various physical and virtual servers, lots of RAM and NICs etc.
My boss was impressed with the result (always a bonus)....although with the lab setup above, I think he wont be so pleased when the next aircon electric bill arrives lol.
I recently achieved the MCSA 2008 (in April 2013), so a lot of the study martial for that track was still fresh in my mind and put to good use today. Therefore, I felt the exam wasn't too difficult. I felt the difficultly level of the 412 section was slightly higher than the other two sections. The 411 section didn't really trouble me at all.
Good luck to anyone else on here taking this one.
