Phone interview tomorrow

Landed a phone interview tomorrow with a major vendor. I was planning on starting my own company after VCDX, but now that's on hold depending on how the interview goes. Timing sucks, but when an opportunity presents itself, gotta seize it.

Same thing happened to me. I quit my retail job to work for myself a bit, as soon as I did and posted it I was hit with some good offers. Where were those offers a few months ago?

Interview got rescheduled to later in the week.

Finally did the phone interview. Overall very positive. Need to go though 3-4 more rounds before they make an offer. The drawback of trying to work for a major vendor.

Tech interview scheduled for later today. Almost left my cell at home this morning. Would have made the interview more interesting.

Tech interview was interesting. Due to crappy cell reception, when the interviewer called, it went directly to voicemail. When I called my voicemail, the provider had just finished migrating voicemail box, so all users had to setup their mailbox again. After 5-10 min of configuration, was able to access my voicemail, call the interviewer back, apologize about the voicemail and start the interview.

Interviewer asked me about my strengths & weaknesses in virtualization technologies then asked questions mainly focused on areas I identified as my weaknesses. Managed to answer enough of them correct that he's recommending my hire.

Due to scheduling quirk had the face to face meeting with the PM before the tech interview. Looks like the only thing left is salary negotiation.

Completed the final round of interview yesterday. It was meeting the PMs and other bosses. I was scheduled to interview with 3 people over 2 hours. Ended up interviewing with 4 people over 3 hours. Managed to answer all their questions pretty well. Didn't have anything that was complete stump. They should be in touch early next week.

So the trick is to list strengths as weaknesses to get the easier questions!
