Pls help me out to take Ubuntu system backup over windows shared folder over network. Is there any tool or site for refernce. Pls I need ur suggestion....................

    This is a job for.....SAMBA!!! icon_lol.gif Samba sets up network shares for whatever Linux directories you choose (note this includes subdirectories as well). These appear to Microsoft Windows users as normal Windows folders accessible via the network. Linux users can mount the shares directly as part of their file structure using the smbmount command, or use an smbclient.

    So using SAMBA you can backup your Distro into a Windows Shared Folder over a network.

    Also, after setting up SAMBA, you can use CRON to schedule the backups for your automatically if you like.

    Bro! that's I know, but the issue is when I'm going to backup over smb with Deja-Dup tool; It always shows me error ----
    Backup location not available
    Waiting for a network connection …

    How can I resove this problem?
