MSCA/MSCE

Just after some advise. I just need one exam to achieve MSCA. Do you recommend continuing on from 290,291 onto 293 and 294 or doing an elective to complete my MCSA. My goal is to achieve MSCE 2003. icon_confused.gif

Personally im doing the two exams for the MCDST that way it counts as the elective and is an extra certification.

You can use the MCDST only as an Elective towards MCSA. Not MCSE. Just so you know.
Certifications: ITILF / MCP / MCDST
    Passed the: EX0-100 / 70-270 / 70-271 / 70-272 / 70-290
    Next to do: 70-284 / 70-285 / 70-291 / 70-293 / 70-294 / 70-297 / 70-298 / 70-299 / 70-350

I thought you can use the MCSA as the elective for the MCSE??

Edit: Just checked Microsoft web site and it says you can use MCSA 2000 as elective, what about MCSA 2003?? Anyone know?

No you can't use your MCSA 2003 as an elective because it uses the same core-exams as the MCSE 2003 namely the 270, 290 and 291. For you MCSE you also require 293, 294 and 297 or 298.

So if you use your MCSA 2000 as an elective and you want to become MCSE 2003 certified you need to pass 270, 290, 291, 293, 294, (298 or 297) and no elective since you MCSA 2000 is your elective.

If you are already MCSE 2000 you can upgrade to MCSE 2003 by taking the 292 and 296 exams.
