Question regarding upgrade MCSE2003

in MCSA / MCSE on Windows 2003 General
All,

I hoop someone can make sense of what I’m trying to ask.

So far I have: MCP 70-210, 70-215, 70-218, 70-284.
Making me an MCSA W2K messaging.
Now I’m planning on taking the upgrade exam 70-292.
When I pass I’ll be MCSA W2K and W2K3: messaging.
Here is the question.
What exams do I have to take if I want to upgrade after that to MCSE W2K3.
Or do I have to first get my MCSE W2K and then take the 70-296 as well (don’t really want to get my MCSE for w2k) since I think it’s perhaps not worth the effort being 2000 getting a bit old.

    I would think 70-293 & 70-294 & either 70-297 or 70-298.

    But to be absolutely sure you can check your certification planner on the mcp website.
    MCP / MCDST / MCSA+M
    Passed the : 70-228 / 70-229 / 70-270 / 70-271 / 70-272 / 70-284 / 70-290 / 70-291
    Next to do : 70-350 / 70-293 / 70-299 / 70-294 / 70-297 / 70-285 / 70-298

    I'm almost certain you will have to be at the minimum of MCSE 2000 before you can go the upgrade route. That upgrade path is built on you already being MCSE 2000 and you upgrading to 2003. You will have to finish 2000 and then take 70-292 and 70-296 to go the upgrade path.

    Not entirely correct. If you sit and pass 70-292 right now, then you're MCSA 2003. Then I would suggest going ahead and finishing your MCSE 2000, followed by sitting and passing 296. End result, you're MCSE 2000 and 2003.

    Possible I’ll hold off with the MCSA upgrade and first complete the 2000 track (still need some time to think what's the best since I’m just starting with the 70-292 studies). I’m a bit impatient on getting my W2k3Cert but perhaps its better to stick with one before going to the next.
