Interesting, I know Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Cloud Computing Servers is a pretty big deal.
It is very heavily used in business, so it's not too much of a surprise that they would want certified professionals.* Currently pursuing: PhD: Information Security and Information Assurance

CBT Nuggets has 2 series about AWS and its certification.
Definitely going for the cert after I complete my CCNA. Per my suggestion, we have already started using AWS at work for pretty much every server that doesn't need to be on site. -

I think it will be a worth while investment for sure. At the same time you'll want certifications on the underlying OS you plan to deploy to their cloud.WIP:
