Hi all,
I am running win server 2012 in virtual box, i have just installed AD DS, after configuring DNS settings the machine restarted for the system to take effect, now when i try to log in with my normal admin password the system does not authorize it any more. has anyone came across the same issue or does anyone maybe know what is causing this.
I would appreciate any replies thanks.

I'm wondering if you are trying to logon locally:
servername\localaccount
or if you are trying to log on to the domain you just created using a admin account there....
domainname\username
?
You may need to use the <- arrow at the login screen and select other user and try to log in with the appropriate account.
Just a suggestion, its early still so may not be useful but any more information you can provide would be good if you're still having an issue. Good luck! -

Well before i created the domain the log in account was just Administrator but now it's Server-name\Administrator, i first renamed the server into domain controller name before creating the domain and actually meaning to make the server a domain controller. Do you mean i should, instead of logging in as Server-name\Administrator just log in as Administrator."It's better to try and fail than to fail to try." Unkown

Attached is a screenshot of one of my 2012 servers. You should be able to compare it to what you see.
You would want check the "Sign in to:" field and see if your domain name (that you recently created) is there. From there, you should be able to log on using the domain admin account which I believe is your "Administrator" account and the password you created. Note, you shouldn't need to put "domain name"\username in if it already has the "Sign in to: Domain name" correct.
Domain Controllers don't maintain local accounts like other servers, as they host domain accounts. They also don't allow most local logons for increased security, though you can always allow specific user accounts to remotely connect or log on locally.

This link seems to be relevant to what you've done, perhaps it might help as well?
