Hey all, I have some Toslink cables I need to run across a room that I need protected from foot traffic. I have an area rug to run them under, but need some ducting or another option to keep them from... cracking under the pressure.. (get it?)
Anyone have any suggestions on some very low profile protectors? I have no issues with the protector being visibly higher than the rest of the carpet, but I do not want it to be a trip hazard as it will not be visible.

If you have a table saw/circular saw you could possibly cut a groove in a board and stick the cable in the groove. -

Normally that is what I would do, especially since it is a semi-permanent installation. However, this is a town house, so I don't exactly have the right to pull carpet and cut grooves. Additionally, this is dead center of a 20' room. That is a lot of carpet to pull indeed.
