I have donated $5.
New features such as switching will be released on feb.2014 for those who have early access.

There's lot of folks involved from here, mentioned in another thread. Most are doing the 25.00 level.

I just signed up for the $25 package. I am only a few months into my studies so I expect to be using a lot of GNS3 for the next few years.

They have a topic on Cisco Learning Network. More switch functionality but no Catalyst IOS emulation.
ccnpninja
I wonder what type of switch "OS" they emulate/simulate..
JoseJimenez
AFAIK, none

According to the email blast they sent out to supporters, for switches they will be using a form of L2IOU, which will allow for most Catalyst switch functions. You still won't be able to do PVLANs, and MLS QoS won't work, but you will definitely have more switch functionality than you do now. I'd say you should be able to accomplish 80% of CCNP SWITCH studies with the new version from the looks of it, and 98% of the CCNA studies related to switching.
