CCP - How much is enough?

sendalotsendalot Member Posts: 328
Apparently, 640-554 puts heavy emphasis on CCP.

So how much is enough?

I know basic NAT, ACL, routing and have completed a IPsec site-to-site tunnel (verified connectivity as well).

Do I have to know everything inside out?

Thanks.

Check the exam topics on the Cisco site. Know how to do everything listed there. You don't have to be an expert, but you should be able to make your way through the menus and have a decent idea what you're going to do when you find the screen you're looking for. Also note tasks where there's more than one way of doing something, you may find your preferred method greyed out in the exam.

Assume you'd need to configure everything through CCP

CCNA Security is all CCP as far as configuration is concerned. ASDM/IME will come into play at the CCNP level.

I passed both ICNDs on several attempts. I hope to pass security without much reattempt dramas.

Thanks you all for the tips.

Let's flip the question, how much is enough on the CLI? So far I'm doing everything from the CLI.

There is no CLI from what I remember? CCP was used for everything. You can setup a good lab within GNS3 with loopback adapters and then connect to them with CCP and do everything you need.
