Which study guide is right for someone with my experience?

I have been in telecommunications for 8 years and have finally decided its time to get moving on getting my certs and moving into legitimate IT work.Not sure if my back and brain can take anymore 80 weeks of residential installs!!. I have gained a lot of on the job knowledge after 8 years of installing cable, internet, security, and server based CCTV systems. and have built a few PC's myself .I plan on going for several certs all in the next 6 months. My hope is to show that with my 8 years of semi-relatable experience and the fact that I quickly acquired a mid level grade of certification on my own that I do not have to start in an entry level help desk job and will be viewed as at least semi experienced. At 31 I have some catching up to do With a family and bills I cant take a huge pay cut to move over into IT, but I am not expecting my current pay/salary (avg aroun $55,000)with my first IT job
Ive taken a few practice tests and have been hitting around 70% on the 220-802 and around 50% on the 220-801. I am trying to figure out which study guide would be best for me. I feel like Mike Meyer's All-in-1 is just more info than I really need. I was looking at Exam Cram and it seems to be what I am looking for. Any suggestions? As a note,(towards the practice test scores) I have never even cracked a tech manual or been in a CS class.

    When I got my A+ I used the Exam Cram instead of the Mike Meyers.

    But I used the Mike Meyers AND the Exam Cram for the Net+.
    Goals for 2018:

    I would say use Mike Meyers guide. The reason is that you don't know what you don't know until you are in there. You'll need to know just about everything in that guide as you get started and it won't hurt you to be over prepared when you get your first job.

    I think the A+ 80x Exam Cram book has the same info as the Mike Meyers. It's just presented a lot more succinctly and straight-to-the-point.

    Whereas I loved Mike Meyers Net+ book, I couldn't force myself thru his A+ book.
