I just passed my 70-680 and have my A+ certification. What type of job should i go for if I want to end up in Networking?

I am currently studying for an IT/Help desk certificate and will be done by the end of the summer.

Right now I am in Cisco Network Academy classes through my college and will get my CCENT this year and maybe Security+ as well. I should finish my Associates in Network Engineering in about 2 years.

I am currently a Project Manager for a POS company making sure all the Restaurant equipment gets installed correctly making 30K.

Is help desk the only way to go or is there entry level jobs for Networking?

Network+, then on to the page: Free practice exams and forums for CCNA, CCNP, and CCIE certifications

That's the path I'd look into!

Depending on your area, you might be able to find an entry-level NOC or Jr. Net Admin position that would take someone w/o prior network-centric exp/knowledge. However, a good idea might be to look for a helpdesk/desktop support position that also has an in-house network team that you'd be able to interact w/. Even if you have no plans to transition over to the networking team at the same company, it'd pay to at least have the opportunity to get some production/enterprise level exposure.

Just make sure if you switch to a help-desk/desktop-support role that it's worth it. Too many of those positions are dead-end roles that don't offer much value other than learning their specific customers/system (- which isn't necessarily always a bad thing, but won't help you at all on your goal to progressing into networking.)
    Goals for 2018:
Certs: RHCSA, LFCS: Ubuntu, CNCF CKA, CNCF CKAD | AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS Certified Security Specialist, GCP Professional Cloud Architect
Learn: Terraform, Kubernetes, Prometheus & Golang | Improve: Docker, Python Programming
    To-do | In Progress | Completed
