gatorizzgatorizz Member Posts: 7 ■□□□□□□□□□
I wanted to start a thread to compare everyone's results of when you got your results, when you submitted your application, and how long it took to get certified, and if there were any issues. I know this thread will help others in the future!

Exam Date: December 14, 2013

Received Exam Score: January 16, 2013 (3:03 PM, 33 days after exam)

Submitted App. via fax and email: January 22, 2014

Received Confirm of App: January 23, 2014 (via a person that I emailed) AND January 29, 2014 (via automated system)
*Automated email says it could take up to 6 weeks to process my application.

As of today: My main page on the ISACA website says "Application Submitted"
My certification page says that my application is "Unreviewed"

Please copy and paste (if you'd like) and share your experience!

I took CISM, but here is my status.

    Exam Date: 14 December 2013
    Results Received: 16 January 2014
Certification Request Payment: 16 January 2014
Certification Request Sent: 16 January 2014
    Recipt Confirmation: 17 January 2014
Notice of Processing: 23 January 2014
    Notice of Certification: Pending

08Feb - Current Certification Status: Application Submitted
    08Feb - Current Application Status: Complete-Under Review

I'm assuming that because there was a shutdown at work for two weeks from weather, my processing may have been delayed.

What is the Notice of Processing? Is it like email notification that they have started to work on your application?

Yes, or as far as I can tell anyway.
We recently received your application for the CISM certification. By passing the exam and applying for certification, you have taken a significant step in distinguishing yourself from other professionals.

The processing of your application has begun and the time needed to complete it (up to 6 weeks) will depend on whether or not we have received all of your documentation (verification form(s), transcripts, etc). Should any additional information be required, you will receive a separate e-mail outlining the missing information.

Humm, it seems there is some difference for CISA and CISM as no one with CISA seems to have reached that stage in the processing of their application. Wait and watch.
  • wikigetwikiget Member Posts: 75 ■■□□□□□□□□
I also sent my cert request out the same day the results came in.

I guess it is time you added CISM to your profile. Congratulations. You have done well. Best of luck.

congrats!!! Still waiting to hear about the CISA!

CISA seems to be second level preference for ISACA, considering that no one here seems to have progressed any further. No change in status after 3 weeks of 'Application Received' email! It marks the half way mark to 6 weeks processing time. Or may be they get through all the CISM applications first and get on to CISA applications.
  • wikigetwikiget Member Posts: 75 ■■□□□□□□□□
I'd like to reiterate that I submitted my application the same day the results came out. So, it's very possible that it's "first come, first served," regardless of the test taken.

I submitted my CISA application on Jan 20, 2014. As of today (Feb 17), Application Status: Unreviewed

I do understand the 'First In First Out' concept but despite that there seems to be no one here that has had any change in their status which is odd. I am sure there will be many memebers that would have submitted their applications very promptly. my application is still Unreviewed.

I have just received the email and noted that the website is updated that my CISM certification is complete.

"Congratulations! On behalf of ISACA and the recommendation of ISACA’s Credentialing and Career Management Board, we are pleased to inform you that on 18 February 2014 you have been granted certification as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)."

Yep, just got my e-mail on being accepted for the CISM as well. Glad to have that one behind me. Hopefully everyone will get their notification soon. :)
  • gatorizzgatorizz Member Posts: 7 ■□□□□□□□□□
Seems like they are going through the CISM's first. They probably go through each group. Since CISA is probably the most time and labor intensive, maybe they wait until after they have finished the other exams first.

Well finally status has changed to 'Under Review'. Seems they have gone through the CISM before CISA.

My best guess would be that on Monday (2/24), ISACA will likely update the certification status of the Approved applications (Hopefully to Certified!). And anyone still in unreviewed, or complete-under review status will likely see those changing next week. But I really have no clue. I'm just happy to have it over with. I had every intention of using the question DB to study on a structured schedule like I had done for the CPA exam. In the end, I had logged about 8 hours of study time with an average of 68%. All from the night before exam. I did not have a fun time sitting for the exam.

I am too hoping that the status will change in the week starting 24th Feb. For some the process may be quicker with some sort of existing ISACA certifications.

    Sent application on January 29.
Changed status to under review on February 21.
Changed status to approved today - February 24.
