CBT Nuggets question

I am gonna have most of next week available to study and I was thinking of watching a full video series in one week. Labbing along with it as best I could. I have Chris Bryant's udemy series for CCNA but I also noticed I can grab a 7 day free trial on CBT Nuggets.

My question for anyone who has used the CBT Nuggets videos is how fast does it move along. Is it reasonable to watch 30+ hours of it in one week. My thinking is I can watch the CBT Nuggets now and if I am looking to review later I can go back to Chris Bryant.

So I figured others must have done this too and I just looking for any feedback about how it went. I don't need to learn everything next week I just want to expose myself to the whole curriculum. I am still in the Netacad and don't plan on testing until June when the program has finished.

I watched them all. Jeremy is pretty entertaining but to watch them all in a week seems like a nightmare.
You should have no issues transitioning from Udemy to CBT nuggets and back

I could see you using the videos just as an intro to topics and not really labbing/taking notes but just strictly watching if you wanted to get the entire series down in a week. Then after you got a taste of the topics, you could dig deeper with Udemy or the OCG.

^^^ That is what I was doing for CCNA: Voice before my job sent me down the Security track instead.

I'm thinking of it as review for the CCENT and then just a quick intro to the balance of CCNA. So yeah kind what CoolAsAFan is saying.

I usually like to get an overview of topics and then go back for specifics so I have a better understanding of how they all tie together.
I don't plan to stress over labbing just try to make sure I see all of the commands they are talking about. I'll play the videos on an ipad and fiddle with the computer as I go.

Well see how it goes if I feel burnout I'll just turn it off

I've decided to watch all of Jeremy's CCENT vids first and then start reading Todd Lammle's CCENT book. So far so good. I'm at the switching section of his vids and I can follow along with his command demonstrations thanks to Packet Tracer.

I watched all of Chris' videos first, then used Jeremy Cioara. I wouldn't watch 30+ hours in a week, watch them all at a steady pace and ensure you understand the material. Then continue to practice and practice. Don't rush your studies, take your time.

All I can say is good look. I'm on night shift in Thailand for a couple more weeks. I'm studying for my CCNP, and I've been doing the CCNP ROUTE CBT Nugget series. It is KILLING me. Videos are great, but to try and actually learn and understand everything in a week? That's a little much. You won't be able to retain every little thing from the videos in a week unless maybe you have prior network experience. I find that CBT Nuggets also don't go into as much detail as necessary to pass an exam. You will need reading, videos, and labbing at a minimum to pass the exam with CBT Nuggets. I can't personally vouch for other video series. I do learn a lot from CBT Nuggets, but it's mostly just supplemental to my reading. Videos help to dumb down things that are just difficult to read, and they help a great amount. I hope this has been informative, and I'd like to thank you for reading.

I have actually been studying for the CCENT since September but decided to wait until I finish the Netacad to take the exams. I am just starting the second 2 courses which prepare us for ICND2. I was thinking the videos will be an introduction to the material not as a final study piece.

I'll post back and let you know if I managed the whole series in a week. It's not likely I will but I'm gonna try and see if I like them.

I watched the CBT ICND1 and ICND2 videos in less than a week.

I used VLC player to increase the playback speed. I'd watch most videos around ~ 1.75x playback speed and slowed it down when it got to parts that were going over my head. I mostly just used the videos as a general overview before reading, so I didn't care if I didn't catch everything.
Even still, I ended up w/ almost 20 pages of hand written notes by the time I was done w/ all the videos.

I'm watching Jeremy and he's pretty fun to watch. I'm also supplementing that with TrainSignal, PacketTracer(which is AWESOME) and some labs. I tried reading whether it's an actual book or an e-book and my eyes end up going in completely different directions followed by lethargy!

I am undecided. I had booked my CCENT for February but my instructors mix up our classes and taught us two different curriculum's. First class was Discovery and the second was Exploration. This was not a smooth transition and I decided to reschedule the test.

Since then I put together my own lab and am mostly self studying but my course has been straightened out and we are onto the current exploration curriculum. So I have high hopes I get something out of it lol.

Now I'm looking to ramp up my studying and get back on track. I plan on getting CCNA and Security+ this summer. Then I need to decided my next cisco cert and I will self study that while getting my associates degree. Thanks for the feedback I never considered watching at a faster speed but it's something I might play with.

It is definitely possible to watch them in a week. Not the way that I watch them though. I write down EVERYTHING. Some nuggets even take me an hour to 2 hours to do. I'll watch a few minutes, take notes, pause, get distracted, watch tv, watch a few more minutes. I get distracted easily from reading and watching videos. Now labs... that I could do all day and stay entertained (or frustrated) the entire time.
