IT Systems Analyst (Risk & Compliance) Interview - Advice?

Hey Everyone,

I have a interview tomorrow for a IT systems analyst (Risk and Compliance) position. It's a great opportunity for me and I hope all goes well. I had a phone screen interview last week and I am actually surprised I got a second interview. This is my first on site interview for a IT job. Can anyone give me advice on what to expect? What type of risk/compliance questions are typically asked?

Congratulations Trancewalker!

My interview was delayed due to ice, so it's tomorrow now! They are asking for an individual with 1-2 years dealing with IT Security, Risk or Compliance related. So, I would assume this pretty much a entry level position. I am currently a Corporate Security Analyst in the payment card industry, so I guess that's why they are half-way considering me.

What type of questions did they ask at your interview? Any advice?

It varies from company to company. Sometimes, they bring you in and talk about basic issues. Then, a third interview is arranged where technical issues are discussed. Either way, ask alot of questions regarding the position and read up.

Is the position also in the payment card industry, or are you moving over to a new one (i.e. Government, no PCS private sector, etc...)? If the position is in the PCI sector, I would imagine that they're going to ask you questions related to the PCI standard, how to conduct a PCI audit, how to interpret the results of the audit, what sorts of threats are arrayed against the PCI sector, etc...

@dmoore44 This position is in a new industry for me not related to the payment card industry. I am in a career transition, but I can definitely see how your suggested questions will probably asked.
