According to these tasks, what should my headline be?

My contract doesn't have any job title specified, it just says "Category: Engineer".

The idea of my employer was that I was going to be another sysadmin, however in less than a week I started to be the solely responsible for security tasks. No one tell me what to do nor I tell someone to do anything, it's like I'm the alone wolf within the sysadmins team. I choose what to implement and if there are available resources, I have permission from management to do so.

My daily duties are:

- Implementation and configuration of SIEM, HIDS, NIDS, firewall.
- Servers hardening.
- Deal with server compromises.
- Manage accounts privileges.

So regarding to those tasks, what should I type as my headline?

I've had friends in similar situations (one doing IT work at a university and they gave him the title of "Assistant Professor", he just put "Network Administrator" on his resume for that position). I would go with: Security Analyst, System Security Analyst, or Information Assurance Analyst. If you are actually doing design work as well then you should Security Engineer, since design work falls under that category.

Just put Engineer and list your duties.

So far I have been using Security Analyst. I asked to know whether is there any headline that better covers my duties.

I would just use "Engineer" and be certain that the first 2 or 3 duties in my list were clearly security-based.
