Trunk/Access ports to WLC/AP

Please correct if what I say here incorrect.

For Autonomous APs with multiple SSID with Vlans, I connect it to a trunk port to tag the Vlans.

For WLC, I connect it to a trunk port to tag the Vlans to CAPWAP them into L APs.

For L APs with multiple SSID with Vlans, I connect it to an access port to just any Vlans since CAPWAP will carry other Vlans in it from the WLC? Or shall it be connected to a trunk?

Thanks.

    Autonomous AP: Correct

WLC: Partially correct. CAPWAP operates at Layer 3, so you're not configuring VLANs for the APs. The VLANs only need to be configured as dynamic interfaces for the clients.

LW APs: Yes, you can connect it to any subnet , trunked or as an access port , as long as that subnet has L3 connectivity back to the wireless controller (and the ports, and the DNS discover address is in place).
