Here is a link to CompTIA's latest interactive Career/Certification Map instead of my original post. You can select and deselect vendor certs or select all. There is a print option as well.

Here is a cert map by job role and level (warning, slow download)

Comptia puts the MCITP:EA under the Service/Helpdesk track next to their new RFID+ cert? LOL!
MCSE:Security? That cert has been retired.

This looks like garbage put together by an unpaid intern.

Very nice negative approach to this post.... I personally don't think it's garbage, and coming from someone who was once an unpaid intern, your assumption unpaid interns do sloppy work is appalling /endsarcasm

Seriously though, You paid enough attention to notice the retired certification, I am shocked you didn't notice it was a flow chart from 2011....

Sure this chart is self serving to a degree, but it might be informative to others.. I found it interesting when I saw it a couple years back. I agree some of the paths are a little puzzling, but it has a lot of certifications and ideas for people to at least consider.

I guess with all those RHCE certs, you're going to be doing a lot of network or database administration. icon_rolleyes.gif

You're right, I pointed out the flaws and offered criticism of what I thought was wrong with the blue print *GASP!* I guess I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to speak out against Comptia, especially as a Comptia cert holder icon_rolleyes.gif

The unpaid intern was a sarcastic jab not meant to offered but sorry if you were

Please post your alternate graphically displayed roadmap that some of the Junior IT folks here can follow. I didn't say this road-map was up to date but it gives some folks a sense of where they are and where they can go at what level.

We all know having one cert is not enough. For me I was just posting something that seemed interesting or mildly helpful to others.

I agree with you, obviously this is CompTIA biased, they put it together! However I see even you have a bunch of them!

Edit: I think the context is wrong. Its not that CompTIA is saying RFID is worth the same. It is a Specialized area/cert and therefore "Specialist" rating. I agree they should rename "Service/HelpDesk" to something else.
