Resume question...

I have a resume question. On my resume, I listed a different job title than the actual job title (IT support specialist vs. Technical Assistant). The person helping me with my resume suggested that I use a more descriptive title. Now, I am worried that when they call to verify my employment that this will cause an issue….any thoughts?

I'd always use your actual title. No need to cause any kind of confusion or give them a reason to believe you are BSing them.

It's just semantics. It shouldn't be a problem as they're pretty similar in title. As long as you are not exaggerating or being false with your job title, you should be fine.
