VTP Server/Client troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
Scenario - One 2950 set as server, one 2950 set as client. When I make create a vlan, or name a vlan in the server, the info updates in the client. However, when I try to move an interface in the server, it does not update in the client.

Suggestions?

Solved it. The interfaces connecting the two 2950's had to be set to Trunk.

Glad you solved it. But what do you mean by 'moving an interface"?

^My thoughts exactly. VTP has nothing to do with interface configuration.

I maybe missing something. The original problem was that the client was not incrementing in Configuration Version. I fixed that by configuring the trunk between the switches.

But I also thought that VTP reconfigured a clients interfaces as well. I guess I was wrong.

All VTP does is move a set of VLANs and information from one switch to another

Replicate, not move. Beware the hazard of the higher revision number which overwrites lower rev. information in the same or an unconfigured VTP domain.

Yeah, wrong usage of term that could cause confusion.
