What kind of info can I expect from White paper about a product. Would it be a bunch of marking hoopla or more technical like a manual

JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,023 AdminThe term whitepaper is very overloaded and ambiguous. Once upon a time, it did mean a very technical description of a specific product or technology. Now-a-days, however, you see many whitepapers that are just high-level overviews, marketing gibberish, and powerpoint-ish diagrams (i.e., more in-depth than advertising and executive summaries, but not quite the technical depth one has come to expect from a whitepaper). I can get that stuff by reading product review articles in InfoWorld, eWeek, and the EETimes.
