Relationship between IGP and BGP and synchronisation
If synchronisation is enabled, IGP routes are learnt completely before they populate the BGP routing table. Am I right?

Correct. A router checks that iBGP learned routes are know via IGP first.An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made.
