Anyone deploy/admin Subversion?

Started my new job as a sys admin and one of the first projects that I'm working on is deploying and administering a Subversion system for developers to manage code/scripts and documentation.
Looks like Subversion will be able to do what is requested and the developers also asked about making sure it will prune and graph ok. I'm not familiar with this, however there is an O'Reily book online for free which I'm reading thru in my spare time.
I was wondering if anyone here has deployed/admined a type of system and was wondering what type of issues they had with the process.

One of the main things I've learned using TortoiseSVN is work from the repository browser/local working copy on your pc, don't work from MS Windows Explorer, which I made the mistake of doing since I'm so used to working with that Vs the Working Copy. This caused the repository on the server to go corrupt.
