Taking notes during an interview

What is the accepted practice when it comes to note taking during interviews? I want to look professional and organized but don't want to come off as nervous or anything. Thanks!

Exactly what networker said... Don't over think it. Note down topics that you may want to expand on later or questions that you'd like to ask when the interviewer hands the conversation to you.
On a side note maybe you could impress the interviewer by discretely drawing a beautiful portrait of them and hand it in to them when the interview is finished. -

Personally, I'd skip the portrait. But that's just me.

Juggling people's names, positions, technologies they may use, etc. is not easy. I say write away tidbits that you may need to reference later. Just keep in mind that you don't want to write too much as you may convey a sense of being disengaged. -

Yeah I always write stuff down during interviews.
No one has ever complained.
If you wanna be cool bring a tablet.
I also have questions written down to ask them beforehand.
