Could anyone who has taken this exam share any feedback on it? I've done the standard CIW exams through WGU and they wearn't too bad but a colleague of mine who took this one last year did not pass - he and I both passed the JavaScript exam. Was it any harder than the Javascript exam? Any other tips? I'm using the WGU provided official CIW material to study.

If ya read the PDFs all the way through, you'll do fine on the exam.

I actually wish I had gone to outside sources to solidify my knowledge before taking this exam - I got a 94, and the CIW materials were fine for that, but I use a ton of Perl at work every day now, and wish I had a better foundation.

Thanks for the response! I am planning to read all of the PDFS and take notes and then watch the prescribed videos at Lynda.com.

A lot of the practice questions have the spaghetti code with lots of $var1 = 5 $var2 = 10 what does this print out: print( ++var1 % var2++);

I struggle with these sometimes - was this type of question on the exam a lot?

I wanna say.. yes? Definitely learn operator precedence. Also, as with all coding exams, don't be afraid to use the whiteboard or scrap paper to keep track of states while you step your way through the code.

Passed this today, lots of these types of questions. The CIW study material was sufficient. IMO it was harder than the JavaScript exam.

Thanks! I have two classes left, tech writing and capstone project. Trying to finish these this month.

That's awesome! I'm sure you'll have those finished by the end of the month. I've heard you can use most of the information from your tech writing in the capstone.
