My test is in 1 hour!!!

My heart is beating like crazy and sweating. My CCNA is in an hour, Im basically doing this all alone and not with New Horizons.

Im in the Global Knowledge testing center. I failed the Cisco CCNA with New Horizons the first time I took it. The instructor made too many mistakes in preparing us.

Wish me Luck! The test cost $150

its hard too right now. i had the comfort if i failed that i wouldnt had to pay for the second time around with New Horizons.

i will report back afterwards. i hope after getting this cert that getting a better a job will be easier.

You will fail if you are that nervous. It's just a stupid test and if you dont pass go back again in a week and try again......RELAX!!!!!

Gee, I guess I lucked out. The Tampa branch of NH had outsourced CCNA training with another company that was sharing the office space. That company packages 3 test attempts, and strongly encouraged taking the exam the last day of class, so as to at least get a feel for the test and your weak spots. Mine was doing the sims under time pressure.

That is close -- you could easily study your weak areas and review your okay and strong area and pass easily in 2 weeks. If you don't let it bother you and focus, you might even make up the difference during the 5 day re-test waiting period.

How does this score compare to your first attempt?

My first attempt was 749. That was New Horizons though and I hated the instructors with that Boot Camp class. They made alot of mistakes going through the course which made me confuse and after the test needed to sort things out. Looks like I need more things to sort out with.

I dont think I can in two weeks. The test cost me $150 and I am as poor as the church mouse.

I feel burn out. I have to studied my weeker areas but Im depressed at the moment.

I can imagine how cut ur are, but i think u realy just should take a day off from study, get a good sleep, wake up. And hammer that study for the last time for CCNA. Review your weak areas, then go into the exam again with ur chin up!!

don't worry, you're NOT the only one who has failed. There are many ppl in the same boat as you

don't isolate yourself. Such feelings after any setback is normal and sometimes unfortunately inevitable.

There is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry to hear about your fail, probably from the exam experience you have an idea where your weaknesses are, which type questions did you find the hardest?was it the time etc. maybe you should ask some technical questions here just to be sure you understand the technology correct.
Hows your subnetting,wildcarding and summarizing? these are hit heavy on the exam.Anyway i'm starting to get nervous myself as i sit the 642-642 qos exam in 5 hrs, i wish i could reshedule to do it in 2 hrs but i think 24 hrs notice is required,anyway i will go check the website now.

Did you use the Cisco Press book for that exam? I found the exam came straight out of that book. It was the easiest Cisco exam I have ever taken.

I've used too many sources and im sure i've covered more than whats on the test so i'm actually bored to study it now, i should be doing revision in my last few hours but i cant read anymore qos.
I used 2 versions of cisco course notes,cisco press,a book called administering qos in cisco networks and afew random lookups on cisco.com.I think the cisco press covers 90%, its missing a little here and there from the current qos course notes like QPPB.Anyway i'm feeling confident to pass but you never know what can happen.Anyway i'm worked hard enough so i deserve a pass and if not this time for sure the next time

Anyway i wanna get back to my bcmsn studies as i got a little side tracked on qos.

I messed up on the SIMS I think, I think I am allowed to talk about the CCNA questions here since I didnt get the CCNA cert to begin with. I had two RIP configurations SIMS and one EIGRP SIM. There were a BUNCH of Drag and Drop questions about everything!!!!! It caught me off guard, one after the other. I dont think Cisco gives partial credit for partial answers in the Drag and Drop, maybe that is what killed my chances of passing.

The subnetting , wildcarding i had it down, but it was just more than one thing they wanted. The multiple choice questions had a series of commands for each possible answer and a few were very similiar and had to look somewhat deeply to find the tiny difference between and pick the correct answer. This took some time and couldnt concentrate on the others as much as I wanted too.

But you guys are right, I have to regroup and try to find my week points again. I dont have the sheet with me but I will try and find it and strengthen my weaknesses. I planning to study for 2-3 weeks again before taking it again.

This is where I have most of problems, as I can't choose between very similar answers unless I know every trivial aspect of the topic being tested on

Do know your commands, both the 2950 and the router commands. I guestimate there's about 100 you have to know.

Now don't go off to Cisco's site and memorize all the commands from there. Most of those don't apply to the CCNA. But do know the commands that are applicable to the CCNA, and know them well.

I think we have gotten so used to multiple choice questions on IT tests that we have gotten complacent. If we instead had essay questions or had to type out commands in the tests without feedback, most of us would be in trouble. But if you learn for the Cisco tests as if you had to type commands without help or feedback, you'll do fine on the test. At least for the commands.

Keep at it many many people have failed this exam before and came back and passed so don't give up hope.

The way i like to look at exams that i did not pass is that i did not fail that exam, i found one way of not passing it and i will be more determined next time to pass it

So never never never give up on your goals no matter how difficult they are to get.
